International singing star and actress Patti Boulaye
returns to the Pheasantry for these special shows during the London Festival of Cabaret
. Patti made her West End debut in the musical Hair and her first starring role was as Yum-Yum in The Black Mikado. After starring in the African movie Bisi, Daughter of the River, the biggest grossing African movie ever made, Patti came to prominence as a singer, winning the British ITV talent show New Faces, where she made history by becoming the only contestant ever to receive the maximum 120 points.
Prior to this, she had spent a year releasing several singles with the girl group, the Flirtations. Patti’s victory on New Faces led to the release of the album You Stepped Into My Life, and appearances in stage, film and television, including the starring role in the hit movie The Music Machine; triumph as Carmen in the long running award winning Carmen Jones (The Old Vic and world tour); Royal Command Performances (London Palladium), Dempsey and Makepeace and BBC’s Brothers & Sisters. She had her own series, The Patti Boulaye Show, on Channel 4. An album was released in conjunction with the screening of the series. Patti starred in 12 Joy to the World BBC TV Christmas specials, which were a huge ratings success.
