Clarke Peters: “Songs I Love To Sing” £30

Well known to HBO audiences for his role as Det. Lester Freamon in ‘The Wire,’ Clarke Peters is an accomplished actor, writer, director and singer. Born in New York City and raised in Englewood, N.J and residing in London, he earned a 1992 Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical for writing the acclaimed Broadway revue ‘Five Guys Name Moe’: The Olivier Award for best entertainment and Pick of the Fringe in Edinborough. As an actor Peters appeared on Broadway in ‘The Iceman Cometh’ (1999), winning the Theatre World Award, and as a shady lawyer Billy Flynn in the revival of ‘Chicago/ in 2000 and 2003. “Porgy” in the Gershwins Porgy and Bess original production.( Olivier Best Actor In Musical Nomination).
In addition to ‘The Wire,’ Peters also starred in the HBO mini-series ‘The Corner’ . In 2010, he starred in the production of ‘Five Guys Named Moe,’ in Edinburgh, Scotland. 2011 “Othello” and at present performing the role of Big Chief, Albert Lambreraux, in David Simon’s "Treme," a drama set in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans.
In rehearsal for “Race” a new David Mamet play at the Hampstead Theatre opening 23 May and Shooting the Bio Pic of Marvin Gaye.
