Laurie Holloway started to play the piano at the tender age of 4, tuition began at 7 and by 11 he had been passed on, by his tutor, to more formal lessons. At 13 Laurie was organist and choirmaster of his local church and at 16 he was on the road as a fully fledged professional musician and was most recently the Musical Director for ‘The Michael Parkinson Show’, the highly successful “Strictly Come Dancing” Television Series and ‘The Dame Edna Treatment’.
Cockney singers and comedian Kenny Lynch, a veteran TV entertainer with some 900 shows under his belt. He mad his debut singing at a working men’s club in Leytonstone and not long after had a regular spot in the Prince of Wales, an East End pub owned by an idol of Kenny’s, Sammy McCarthy. “They were pretty tough audiences there and than anything, he helped me gain experience” says Kenny. “They demanded to be entertained and a performer really had his work cut out”. Kenny’s early career included such popular TV series as ‘Ready, Steady Go’ in which he was both announcer and guest star. ‘Thank your Lucky Stars’, ‘That Was The Week Was’ and, in an the early 70’s ‘Get This’ – five series in all, spanning five years, which he co-presented with Harry Fowler.
Kenny, awarded the OBE in 1971, has also been seen in 15 films, many of them taken from successful television series and in 12 of them he appeared as himself.
