Eastern-European Jazz Series features the best musicians and bands originating from or related to Eastern Europe. The opening event presents RB Funkestra, one of the most thrilling funk projects set to give its fiery goodbye to the last days of winter.
With a fine balance between exciting arrangements and fiery solos, RB Funkestra never fails to entertain their audience with the feel-good, high-energy and original hybrid of Funk, Soul and Jazz. This multinational band is the creative brainchild of bassist and bandleader Stefan Redtenbacher who is currently writing the material for their fifth album ‘The Cooker’ due in 2010.
With four records under their belt and regular appearances on the London jazz club scene, RB Funkestra is known for their audience-exciting and high-energy performances. The band is successfully performing on a regular basis at the renowned 606 Jazz Club in London and have appeared at numerous high-profile venues and festivals in Britain and on the Continent (Battersea Jazz Festival, Kaunas Jazz Festival/Lithuania, European Bass Day/Germany etc.)
